Head Over Heels - Review - Jewellery from ETSY

Hello lovelies!

I’ve got a review in store for you today of a few items I bought from a seller on Etsy. As many of you know Etsy is a place where talented craftspeople make and sell many beautiful items. Handmade jewellery happens to be the one that catches my eye the most.

I am left in awe of various collections and pieces from certain sellers. However, the only off putting thing about Etsy can be the high prices. I have fallen in love with many a necklace, glanced down at the price and immediately exited the page to avoid a further dent in my bank balance!

The items I will be reviewing are from Etsy seller “laceinspring” based in Hong Kong. I bought a resin lovebird ring and camera earrings.

The resin lovebird ring was priced at $6.50 which is the equivalent of € 5.16. The pale pink resin is surrounded by bronzed metal that winds around the finger which gives the ring an antique feel. I absolutely love this ring and the ring is alloy adjustable which is perfect for online buyers.

The camera earrings are absolutely to die for! The craftsmanship of the earrings is superb. The level of detail undertaken by this seller is admirable as the fine camera detailing is accurate to a tee. The earrings cost $1.99 which is the equivalent of €1.58.

These beautiful, affordable items were shipped all the way from Hong Kong to Ireland for $6.98 (€5.55) and it look a little under 2 weeks which is fair enough. I browsed through the sellers store and there are literally hundreds of pieces to choose from at very reasonable extremely affordable rates. I will definitely be purchasing from “laceinspring” again and I have told all my friends about the store.

If you would like to experience the same feeling I am please check out

Hands On The Wheel - 17 Va Va Voom Mascara Review

Hi there!

Today I would like to do a review on a product that has really let me down; 17 VA VA Voom Mascara.

I bought this product on offer for €7 in my locals Boots. To be honest, it was a complete impulse buy! I was drawn in by the cute graffiti packaging, low price and the name. With a name like that one would expect to have false looking lashes with a few strokes of a wand. Little did I know I would be severely let down.

I bought it in "Blackest black volume mascara." The colour is undeniably black, so no surprises there. I applied it to the lash expecting a volumizing effect and to be honest my lashes were pretty much the same as their untouched sister! I had to keep dipping my wand back into the container and try to layer my lashes with this product. Even when I used loads the effect was certainly not Va Va Voom!

It feels like i've run out of mascara to be honest and it's brand new! The wand is pretty standard. What surprises me is that the product seems to stick to certain areas of the wand in a gloopy formation. Repeated application results in clumping which leaves me a sad ladybug.

Completely unhappy with this product. I don't even like wearing it on a quiet day in!

Have you tried this out? What do you think of 17 products?

Miles Away - Topshop and H by Henry Holland Haul

Howdy guys!

I've been a busy Tinkerbell this week! Between trying to get a lot of last minute study in for my third year exams, celebrating one of my good friend's 21st (which put a huge dent in my weekend!)and working I'm exhausted.

But not to worry I've got a lovely haul for you guys today!
All of these items I was lucky enough to find on sale!
I guess I shall begin with the Topshop items;

(Sorry the picture will not upload in the correct direction)

So as you can see I've purchased a pair of Gold Ankh Cross Earrings. I picked these bad boys up for about €1.50 which is a steal for these Egyptian style pieces! The next piece is a gold, circular flat top ring with a white triangle in the centre. I can't remember exactly how much I got this ring for but it was VERY reasonable and under €5. Lastly, for the jewellery I got the CUTEST pastel pink filled anchor studs! I got these for €1.50 too and I haven't taken them off. They are so retro with a cute hairband and dash of pink lippie!

Next, I got a leopard print tank top with the subtle peace sign in the middle in a Size 10. This top was only €18 which is hard to say no to. I usually wouldn't be the biggest fan of leopard print but lately i'm being to come around to it. The thing with this piece is that the arm holes come in quite far to the chest so you have to go bra-less or strapless. It also helps if you have a small chest.

Love heart detailed playsuit from H by Henry Holland picked up in Debenhams.

I picked this adorable playsuit up in Debenhams while it was on Sale! I ended up having to pay (GET THIS) only €23.40! How good is that? I picked it up in a Size 8 which I am by no means, however I do feel some of the H by Henry sizes are generous enough sizes. This is a gorgeous, summery piece which i cannot wait to team up with the anchor earrings perhaps when the weather gets a bit better though.

I got 10% student discount on all the Topshop stuff too which was very generous of them.

I cannot wait to wear the playsuit !

What do you guys think?

As I said before I'm wrapped up at the moment but if you do wish to follow my daily rambles I post on my Tumblr quite often www.feedmesilver.tumblr.com

Thanks a million for reading

Oh Yeah, Oh yeahhhhhhhhhh!

This weekend, while I should have been hiding in the corner of a library somewhere getting some much needed study done, I went to one of the best gigs I've been to in a while: The Subways.

Doors opened at 7.30pm and it was held in The Academy in Dublin. Tickets were only €14 too! I received mine as a Christmas pressie so I was delighted as they are one of my favourite bands.

After a few sneaky drinks I entered the venue at around 8pm with my friends and boyfriend. We ran upstairs to be greeted by the opening act which were an Irish bands called The Funeral Suits. These lads are a four-piece band with some heavily distorted guitars mixed with electronica at times. Some catchy tunes led to some serious moves by us four and I even bought a T-Shirt later on that night!

There was a brief intermission and then the atmosphere changed. The minute the band stepped on stage the people in the crowd just started going mental. Frontman Billy, had a look of pure joy on his face as they start strumming the first tune! We wormed our way to the front of the intimate gig and just in time too, as mosh pits started from one end of the venue to the other. It was like we, the people, were their batteries because the louder, messier and out of control the crowd got the more energy the band got!

This was by no means a laid back, chilled gig to attend! It was high energy and manic all the way through! He referred to Dublin as being "fucking mental" countless times throughout the night. Not only did the crowd love to give him buckets of desired attention but they were chanting for Charlotte and Josh!

The climax was when Billy climbed onto the railings above and nosedived into the crowd! It honestly was one of the best gigs I have ever been to. They made you feel like it was a couple of your mates up there playing a set due to the relaxed security, small setting and the fact that I was so close didn't hurt either.
I was jumping around like a maniac for the whole night; headbanging and all sorts. I was even lucky enough to catch the drumstick at the end of the night.

To me that sounds like all the best ingredients for a successful gig!

Mini Haul

Hello there (If anyone is out there!)

I'm going to do a quick haul post.
Last week I was lucky enough to get some lovely gifts from a friend of mine!
Oki doki so let's get crackin'

The first item I have wanted for a while now. A Topshop Striped shirt. It was €58 which is a bit pricey to be honest! I absolutely love it. When I wore it out first, for some reason I felt like a coal miner. Weird huh? My friend described the fit as very pyjama-esque! SO I decided to match it with black, dramatic, smokey eyes and I teamed that with a bright pink lip to add a bit of a feminine touch to it!

The second item I received is the MAC Creme Blusher. This beautiful product was €21.50 and is in the shade So Sweet, So Easy. This is a bright candy pink that is absolutely stunning on. I'll do a review if you would like another time!

The final item is Topshop necklace. It cost €18.50 which again is far too steep for a necklace! I probably would have waited til it went on sale myself. Needless to say, it is a beautiful piece which I have been wearing constantly! It's light and playful so it can be added to a lot of outfits!

What do you guys think of the items?

Would you like me to do a review on MAC's So Sweet, So Easy?

Lemme know!

Rag top, Chrome Pipes

Hello there!

This post will be about a product that has let me down a little to be honest. :(
I was in the Make Up Forever store in Dublin there a couple of weeks ago oogling...well everything!

The prices can be fairly steep in there so unfortunately I never jump to but anything immediately. I tend to hover around the shop with an angel and devil on both shoulders advising me what to do.
On this particular day the devil was getting the better of me so I headed in to fawn over the HD Blush collection.

Very kindly, the shop assistant offered me a sample of the HD Blush in the shade H13 Light Pink. She's probably seen me around the shop so much she just wanted to get rid of me!

As you can see this is a liquid blush in a VERY light pink shade. The lady was so generous with the amount she gave that I still have some weeks later.

Things I loved...

So I applied the blush sparely on my cheekbone up to my temple and blended it with my Sigma Duo-Fibre brush. The texture was beautifully creamy and easy to gently smooth out with the brush.
There was an instant pop of this candy, dolly pink on my cheek and I loved it!

So there i was delighted with myself until a couple of hours later I notice the blush had faded significantly.
I was so annoyed! The bottle of HD Blush goes for €26 a bottle. To be honest I wouldn't pay that for it if you're gonna have to reapply throughout the day.

I'm left wondering if perhaps if it was a different shade, maybe a darker shade would it last longer?
Until then i'm left with a product I was so excited about that let me down.

Have you guys tried a darker shade? Let me know what you think?

Nail Of The Day

This is my first NOTD post as I must admit I don't really take the time out to do my nails everyday.
I will admit I'm lazy when it comes to nail art.

It was sunny for once in this dreary country today, well at least in the morning, so i decided I would need a lovely Spring nail polish to add to the day!
I decided to go with a Kiko nail polish No. 387 Turquoise. I absolutely feel in love with this colour when I saw it on the shelves on the Kiko store in Malaga.

Its a powerful, pastel colour that screams fresh and Spring to me! It was so purse friendly as well at only €3 I think in the shop however they can also be purchased online for £3.90.

(I have the hands of a 90 year old)

Ok so although I have such a love for this colour and this brand there are a few quams I have to pick with this nail polish.

1. It needs two coats. Not impressive with one coat as it looks almost translucent.

2. Unfortunately, It chips easily. As you can see my thumb in the picture is already chipped. So it does not last for the longest amount of time. As I mentioned before I am lazy with my nails so I am the girl who leaves chipped polish on for yonks!!

As I am not a huge nail buff, this product suits me fine as it is very affordable and offers a beautiful burst of colour.
And they ship to Ireland which is always a plus!

Why not make up your own mind. Take a look at all the Kiko products on their website http://www.kikocosmetics.com/eshop/guest

What do you think? Have you tried Kiko nail polishes before? How did you find them?

Lack of Internet Connection makes Silver a Sad Puppy!

Hello my pretties!

It has been far too long since I have written a post up here which is partly due to having no internet connection at my house and also college assignments and upcoming exams. I was meant to pop this post up sooner but unfortunately life got in the way!

As you all know I was sickly jealous of my best friend's Inglot palette, mentioned in the post http://feedmesilver.blogspot.com/2012/02/inglot-palette.html

So I received my tasty payslip at the end of March and decided feck it!
I splurged on my very own Inglot pallette!
I have been dying to get one and at €55 for ten shadows you can't really go wrong. I decided to go for a lot of matte, colourful shades as I seem to lack specific colours when trying out new looks.

I also decided to go with a shimmery brown as this is one of those in between shades I seem to lack also. While it is shimmery that does not take over the whole shadow and I find it is also handy when lining your eye brows.

It is hard to say but my favourite colour is possibly the green, although I fancy the turquoise a bit too. I have to say they all tickle my heart a little!

I find the standard of the Inglot eye shadows to be higher than many other make up brands out there. The only bone i have to pick with my particular choices is, I find that the lavender purple shade is not as pigmented as I would have hoped it to be. I find I have to keep piling it on whereas the others simply glide from my brush to the eye.

Other than that I am delighted with my purchase.

Have you thought about investing in some Inglot eye shadows? What colours?

OCC Lip Tar

Hi all!

I’m really excited by the new products I have received in the post this week 
I ordered OCC Lip Tars last week from the site Love-Makeup and I received them very promptly on Monday morning.
I said I’d give them a go before I gave my two cents about them!

They came in little tubes which are 8 ml each and at first you may think wow really I paid for so many dollas for these… However, when you apply I mean the tiniest little bit to your lip you will notice how incredibly pigmented the OCC lip tars really are. The colours I bought were Harlot (red), Tarred (black) and Anime (pink).

I've added a few (bad) pictures I took as I was running out the door.

I am ecstatic with these products!
1. They are sooooooo pigmented it’s like a dye on your lips
2. They are long wear. I attached my hand after I swatched the lip tars and still they wouldn’t come off.
3. Not too bad price wise. I think they are £8.99 on the website.
4. The lip gloss dries to your lips to give a satin soft look. Instead of dry ad cracked look.

The one thing I will say is DO NOT use too much I made this mistake by accident on Monday and my lips bled a little.
Less is more with lip tars.

Also I would like to point out that I received excellent service from the lovely people from Love-Makeup I will definitely be a returning customer!

Great product!
If you would like to try any of them out check out www.love-makeup.co.uk

What do you think? Has anyone tried them?

Lipstick Alert!

I paid a visit to a lovely little shop named Cosmetique today!

This gem of a shop sells good quality make up at discounted prices and is located in the Georges St Arcade.

I decided to have a gander to look for my foundation in there and unfortunately they didn't have my shade. However, my trip was not a complete waste as I came across the lipstick shelf :)

I looked at a few trends from London Fashion Week and noticed that the natural, light, neutral look matched with a strong brow seemed to be present in a lot of the designer looks.

I introduce you to Calvin Klein shade #123 Henna.

I was going to put up a picture my lips are not at their best at the moment! I have tested out this lipstick and there are a few pros and cons.

Pros:
Beautiful nude pink colour
Creamy
Slight pearly sheen
Blends well with my lip liner

Cons
Not for long wear one would have to keep applying

I would give this lipstick a 6/10
I think while I love its formulation and texture, the lack of longevity of the lipstick would probably irritate me.

Great little buy though as it was only €6.99! You can't really go wrong can you!

Seriously check out this little shop!!

X

P.S. The lady behind the counter, i'm just going to assume she was the manager, told my friend and I that the shop would be moving to the Ilac centre on Henry St in around a month!

Natural Pink Lip using Kiko

Another great brand out there is Kiko.

Kiko is a beautiful, Italian brand which produces cheap, affordable products. However the price of these make up products does not mean Kiko compromise the quality of their make up.

Today, I used my Inglot lip liner to line my lips. This liner is a soft pink which can subtly line to the lips without being too harsh. I lined the outside of the lips and slightly lined the corners of the mouth. Then, I used a Kiko lip gloss, which I think is in the shade Guava Pink.

As you can see this light pink shade blends in perfectly with the Inglot lip liner. This gives a beautiful natural pink lip which one can wear for a daytime look.

I absolutely love Kiko products. They last for ever and they do not hurt the bank balance either. I have tried eye shadows, primers, lip glosses, eye liners and a mascara. I have not been let down by a single product.

Do you guys like the natural pink lip?

Inglot palette

So my friend came over for a bit of a girly day the other day and she brought along her new toy….

An Inglot mix and match pallete!

The minute she took it out of her bag, I was instantly jealous. It had beautiful shades of browns and burnt coppers. However it also included a subtle pink, white and murky purple. She was helped by the kind staff of Inglot to pick out these colours to suit her skin tone. She has a striking olive skin tone which means she can pretty much experiment with a wide variety of colours and shades.

The palette costs €55 and it contains ten different eye shadows, which you can pick at random if you wish. The quality of the eye shadows blew me away! The texture of each shadow is soft and powdery making them easy to blend. You do not need to waste your time hacking away at these shadows as they come off onto the brush with ease, his means the shadow will last for longer as you do not have to scrape and damage it when using a brush to apply onto the lid.

In my personal opinion, I think €55 is a great price for this palette. That works out at a mere €5.50 for each shadow. The shadows do not disappoint in size or application quality!

It was a great purchase and to be honest has left me feeling quite jealous!

Has anyone tried any Inglot eyeshadows? What did you think?

Surprise, suprise !

So I had the awkward, horrible moment of running out of foundation today !
So I crawled from my bed and had a lovely trip to Boots. I use Revlon Colourstay Foundation (absolutely brilliant by the way) and as I picked it up I noticed that with every Revlon foundation they were offering a lip product free! This is a brilliant offer as most Revlon lip products are in and around a tenner! So I picked up the lipstains as i've heard people giving them good reviews and tried it out for my self. I am very impressed with this lipstain. It comes with a lip balm and one thing I loved was, when you applied it to your lips it dried almost instantly. Even when you apply the lip balm over it the colour does not transfer when eating, drinking or even doing a bit of smooching ! Really impressed with this one!
Have you guys tried any lipstains? X

Another Sleek product

Yes, it's another Sleek product This time its for the lips
A lip product called pout paint has been around for a couple of months now. I was dying to get my hands on a good quality purple/pink lipstick in exactly this shade. When they come in the post, which I may also add is extremely prompt, you may be surprised that they seem quite small. The puzzled look was wiped off my face as soon as I sampled them for myself. A tiny bit of product spreads so far and the pigment is unreal! Here's a look at the purple/pink!
I lined the lips with an Inglot soft precision lip liner in shade 67 and applied the pout paint in the shade Mauve over to my lips. The other shade I bought is called Lava. It's vibrant orange colour and its fantastic! So as you can imagine i'm singing Sleek's praises at the moment ! Have you tried any of their products?? X

Tunes in the Place

You know what? I LOVE Queens of the Stone Age. What happens with me is, I love a band listen to their album on repeat and then never listen to them for a year or two. So QOTSA have made a recent comeback for me while I spend all my time doing assignments. I'm the one bobbing my head along to Track 7 !
Era Vulgaris is such a great album. I suppose its toned down ad new compared to older stuff but it's definitely a grower ! X

Whoops !!

Ok so that was a terrible start to my "new beginning" wasn't it? But i'm armed with an excuse! I was away snowboarding in the beautiful French Alps. I've suffered a few bruises and that is all, thank God. Right so without further ado... I would like to show you all my favourite Christmas present that I received this year from my brother. I am the proud owner of the Sleek Me, Myself and I eyeshadow palette.
This is one of the best eyeshadow palettes out there at the moment. Not only is it useful for every day make up with its shades of neutral pinks and burgundy, this must have palette boasts of night time looks with bright yellows, screaming turquoise and blushing red! I like the fact that it provides a white shadow that one can use as a highlighter when trying diverse looks. Another fantastic thing about this product is that it is highly pigmented. The joy that came across my face when I used these colours for the first time was an alien concept to my brother, who guessed this was a wining present!
I have to admit since this landed in my hands, I have not been able to let it out of my sight! As you can probably notice from the smudges of powder evident in the photos. I would recommend this to anyone, from beginners to experts. It is extremely affordable, however, this DOES NOT compromise the quality of the Sleek palette.
Why not see for yourself? Check out the Me, Myself and I palette and other products on their website www.sleekmakeup.com Enjoy!

New Year, New Start; Exploration

Hi there,

So I am aware that there is probably no one reading this blog post and I am currently writing to my own ego, but today is the day I have decided to take a step into the unknown.

I constantly give out that I have no talents and do not possess a creative bone in my body. However, 2012 may be the year that changes my life!

Well, at least i'm going to try something new.

I have decided i'm going to take up some new hobbies and re-invent my life this year. I shall let you in on a few plans and goals I hope to set AND COMPLETE. I'm going to give them all a shot anyway and see where they take me.

I plan to write about make up, beauty, fashion, music, movies, my life, the usual. This blog will show my experimentation with different styles, products and maybe even a new types of exercise (if you're so lucky). I also hope to try out new products that, as an Irish person, are not available to me in the high street stores. While i do believe in good quality make up, one thing I would like to try is finding dupes of well known products and maybe even at a cheaper price.

I may talk about an occaisional movie I watch I don't really know but I guess i'll just wait and see where this goesssssssssssssssssssssssss.

Life's all just a bitta fun anyway isn't it?
